Thomson 9211A: A CMOS Sensor with full HD resolution

Thomson’s new 9211A CMOS sensor is characterised by a dynamic range of more than 120dB when in non-linear high dynamic range mode as well as other features including high imaging performance and low power consumption. Its 5 x 5µm per pixel, 2/3” format monochrome sensor area captures highest quality images in full HD 1080p (1920 x 1080 pixeals) and delivers them with a rate of up to 90 full frames per second.

With not more than standard packaging, the Thomson 9211A is suitable for operating temperatures of -20°C to +75°C. Other variants include hermetically sealed ceramic packaging sized 20mm x 25mm (suitable for use in medical applications), organic packaging, an automotive only version (for an extended temperature range) as well as a tested dice without package variant.  This renders the sensor suitable for a broad range of applications and fields of use in industrial image processing and in the medical, scientific, and automotive areas, which place high demands on hardware quality and flexibility.
