Compact and Affordable High-Resolution Sensor Modules for Professional Applications
Customers who are looking for high-resolution streams in panoramic applications or just need to exceed the 20-megapixel border for compact sensors at best image quality don’t need to look any further. FRAMOS has a special offering: We built a demonstrator with a totally customized sensor solution. The special feature is a high-resolution bare-die consumer sensor (Sony IMX586 / 48 megapixels) that has been bonded directly onto the circuit board. We tuned the image signal processor (ISP) on the sensor for the best image output so that it can be used for final processing by the image signal processor (ISP) of the NVIDIA® Jetson Orin™. The ISP on the Jetson Orin™ is then tuned for maximum image quality, including color reconstruction and correction, automatic white balancing, noise reduction, and sharpness enhancement. This approach makes it possible to use sensors that were previously economically inaccessible for individual applications, and it shows how embedded device manufacturers can utilize the exact fitting sensor for their application requirements in order to achieve their demanding needs at maximum quality. This demonstrator provides a full vertical 8K image at native screen resolution from one sensor and module. It comes with an industry-typical M12 mount and without any stitching artifacts.
