Information on the Electrical and Electronic Equipment Act
The symbol for the separate collection of electrical and electronic equipment is a crossed-out wheeled bin. The disposal of these electrical appliances in household waste is prohibited under the ElektroG (Act on the Sale, Return and Environmentally Compatible Disposal of Electrical and Electronic Equipment)!
Owners of old electrical and electronic equipment must collect it separately from unsorted municipal waste. You must separate used batteries and accumulators that are not enclosed by the old electrical appliance from it before they are handed over. (§ 18 Para. 2 in conjunction with § 18 Para. 1 S. 1 in conjunction with § 10 Para. 1 ElektroG)
As a consumer, you are responsible for the deletion of your personal data on the waste equipment to be disposed of. (§ 18 Abs. 1 S. 2 Nr. 7 ElektroG)
As a consumer, you are obliged to dispose of them via the local collection and return systems of the municipality. Consumers can return their old electrical appliances free of charge to one of the municipal collection points.
