Leading sensor manufacturer, ON Semiconductor, has launched the AR0221 “Starlight” imager providing excellent image quality for security and surveillance applications. The AR0221 Rolling Shutter sensor is optimized for both low light and challenging high dynamic range scene performance with a 4.2m BSI pixel and an Advanced Line-Interleaved HDR. The AR0221 is available from global imaging expert FRAMOS.
The 1/1.7 format-type CMOS image sensors AR0221 comes with an active-pixel array of 1928 (H) x 1088 (V), which results in 2.1 Megapixel for high-quality video surveillance. Images are captured in either linear or high dynamic range modes with a rolling-shutter readout. Additional features include sophisticated camera functions like in-pixel binning, windowing, and both video and single frame modes.

The imager can capture 60 fps at full resolution and 30 fps in 3-exposure HDR. The imager is an optimal choice for starlight and long-range view security cameras.”
The ON Semiconductor AR0221 image sensor is designed for both low light and high dynamic range scene performance and is programmable through a simple two-wire serial interface. The imager supports both MIPI (4-lane MIPI CSI-2) and HiSPi interfaces and is ready for multi-camera synchronization support. Users can select from automatic or manual black/level control and are able to switch frame to frame among two contexts to handle multi-function systems.
