FRAMOS offers camera data transfer over a single coax cable using the GMSL2 protocol on the Jetson AGX Xavier platform. Camera developers utilizing the FRAMOS Sensor Module Ecosystem can integrate the highly flexible GMSL2 technology with image sensors producing up to 8MP resolution at 30fps over cable length of 15m. Developers benefit from the entire FRAMOS Sensor Module Ecosystem and its large selection of supported sensors as they can quickly create proof-of-concept designs for applications not just for the automotive market. Whenever a sensor module will be installed in tight spaces such as Banking ATMs, Quick Service Restaurant menu boards or POS Self Checkouts, extending the distance between the module from the camera processor is often required. Many other applications, like farming equipment, large drones and logistics robots, can also benefit from this robust automotive grade bidirectional GMSL2 high speed transfer technology.
FRAMOS, a global custom vision solutions and component supplier, announced the availability of the new IMX548 and IMX568 5.1 Megapixel CMOS sensors from Sony. These new (1/1.8 type) global shutter sensors leveraging the Pregius STM technology are available in monochrome or color (RGB). Both sensors are available in an identical 132 Pin LGA ceramic package with a 15mm x 12.5mm footprint. In this way, Sony Semiconductor Solutions is continuing the current trend of offering sensors with better performance in smaller packaging.
