ON Semiconductor has announced to discontinuing the production of CCD image sensors. Last time buy date will be March 18, 2020. All CCD Sensors (KAI, KAF, KAE, KLI, KAC) by ON Semiconductor are impacted by this end-of-life. The former Kodak CCD facility in Rochester, US, will then cease operations in June 2020. The FRAMOS sensor experts are available to advise and support for any questions regarding last orders, replacement options and any sensor evaluations.
ON Semiconductor has expanded its high-performance XGS family of Global Shutter CMOS image sensors with two new models; the XGS 9400 and the XGS 8000. These devices provide resolutions of 9.4 and 8.8 Megapixels respectively in a compact package, achieving high-speed performance in a single form factor. Both models contain a rich feature set and are particularly suited for integration into 29 x 29 mm2-cameras for Machine Vision, ITS, Security, Medical and Scientific applications.
Sony Semiconductor Solutions has launched a new image sensor for surveillance cameras, factory automation applications, and industrial environments. The IMX485 provides Sony’s STARVIS™ technology for excellent visibility in low light. It combines high sensitivity with high-speed, which makes the IMX485 a great solution in challenging environments for industrial inspection systems.
FRAMOS, the leading partner for image processing solutions, is expanding its embedded vision product ecosystem from June 2019 with six new modules for CMOS sensors from Sony and ON Semiconductor. With a multi-sensor platform, FRAMOS is launching a completely new solution to support stereo, dual stereo and all-round applications. The new platform now allows the connection of up to four sensor modules to the NVIDIA Jetson TX2 development kit or alternatively to the Jetson AGX Xavier development kit for high-end applications.
Global vision partner FRAMOS® will present its embedded vision portfolio including their Ecosystem of sensor modules and Intel® RealSense™ Technology at the Embedded Vision Summit. The industry leading event showcases computer vision innovations and will take place May 20-23rd in Santa Clara, California.
“Stacked Pixel” Technology brings High Performance for Miniaturized Embedded Vision - The newly developed Pregius S line is the 4th generation of Sony CMOS image sensors incorporating Pregius™ technology. The Pregius S reaches higher performance in a smaller package with stacked image sensor technology that is based on Sony’s proprietary Global Shutter function, and a back-illuminated pixel structure. This technology allows smart embedded applications in industrial vision to benefit from imaging performance that is improved by 1.7X, while the form factor of sensor design is reduced by 40 percent. First samples of Sony’s new Pregius S line will be available from global vision partner FRAMOS®.
The "embedded world" in Nuremberg is the leading international trade fair for embedded systems and THE industry meeting place for developers and decision-makers of embedded solutions. Image processing has been represented for many years with its own areaand has grown again in 2019 with more focus on Embedded Vision. The FRAMOS team of experts presented its embedded vision portfolio at this show. Here is an overview of the highlights from the fields of image sensors, displays, optics, 3D solutions, modules and processing that was captured while at the trade fair.
At the Vision Show in Stuttgart, November 2018, the VDMA presented again the "Industrial Vision Days", featuring a 3-days talks programm with top speakers from all areas of the vision industry. FRAMOS, with our CEO Dr. Andreas Franz, contributed to the VDMA panel discussion and our Corporate Editor Ute Häußler hold a speech on the industrial vision market and its trends. Recorded and published from the Spectronet Photonics Cluster, the videos are now available online.
Leading global imaging provider FRAMOS® will be presenting its imaging and embedded vision portfolio at the Vision Show in Stuttgart, Germany, November 6-8, 2018. FRAMOS will show its broad portfolio and services to enable companies to incorporate vision into their applications. FRAMOS will also highlight the launch of their ecosystem of products designed for a modularized approach to Embedded Vision.
The SONY Semiconductor Solution Group announced the FRAMOS® warehouse in Munich, Germany, as one of three SONY certified “Excellent Warehouses” globally. The Excellent Warehouse 2017 Award dignifies the distribution quality for SONY Semiconductor products based on the distribution activities, an impeccable warehouse performance in addition to seamless management and handling.
VGA resolution is sufficient to solve lots of application tasks in Factory Automation and ITS, it’s the image quality and bandwidth that makes the difference and brings precise and fast inspection results. The Sony IMX426 Pregius™ 3rd generation Global Shutter CMOS image sensor provides 9µm pixel size and reaches VGA resolution with 1,449 fps@10-bit for maximized throughput in Factory Automation.
Again, FRAMOS is conducting its 11th annual international market survey on the imaging and vision market. The survey “Industrial Cameras and Vision Systems: Their Market and Trends”, aims to assess the current status of the imaging industry and the future developments that are expected from both camera manufacturers and camera users. The FRAMOS market survey is open to attend until August 15th and provides detailed analysis and future trends to support strategic decision-making.
