“Stacked Pixel” Technology brings High Performance for Miniaturized Embedded Vision - The newly developed Pregius S line is the 4th generation of Sony CMOS image sensors incorporating Pregius™ technology. The Pregius S reaches higher performance in a smaller package with stacked image sensor technology that is based on Sony’s proprietary Global Shutter function, and a back-illuminated pixel structure. This technology allows smart embedded applications in industrial vision to benefit from imaging performance that is improved by 1.7X, while the form factor of sensor design is reduced by 40 percent. First samples of Sony’s new Pregius S line will be available from global vision partner FRAMOS®.

Image processing has been represented for many years with its own areaand has grown again in 2019 with more focus on Embedded Vision. The Sony IMX426 Pregius™ 3rd generation Global Shutter CMOS image sensor provides 9µm pixel size and reaches VGA resolution with 1,449 fps@10-bit for maximized throughput in Factory Automation.
Again, FRAMOS is conducting its 11th annual international market survey on the imaging and vision market. The survey “Industrial Cameras and Vision Systems: Their Market and Trends”, aims to assess the current status of the imaging industry and the future developments that are expected from both camera manufacturers and camera users. The FRAMOS market survey is open to attend until August 15th and provides detailed analysis and future trends to support strategic decision-making.
Two new Sony industrial 4K functional camera blocks, the FCB-ER8530 and FCB-ER8550, provide QFHD resolution video from an 8.5 Megapixel back-illuminated image sensor for superb clarity and detail in applications for situational awareness, surveillance, video sharing, remote learning and content development in full 4K. These very compact cameras offer electronic image stabilization, improved night-time performance, and up to 30x equivalent optical zoom*.
The Sony IMX397 is a very small 1/6.4” CMOS Global Shutter sensor with a pixel pitch of 3,45µm, and providing VGA resolution. It is a low noise, low power imager with a small footprint and a high-speed throughput of 240 fps at full resolution. These qualities, together with MIPI output and a compact package, make this embedded low-cost imager a perfect candidate for Factory Automation, industrial applications, and sensing.

SONY has released their new image sensors within its cutting-edge third generation Pregius line, featuring the SLVS-EC high-speed interface. Both the CMOS Global Shutter IMX425 and the IMX432, with a 1.1” optical format, provide 1,78 Megapixel resolution, and a pixel pitch of 9µm for excellent image quality.
New X-Class CMOS image sensor platform enables high-performance with small footprint integration. The XGS 12000 and XGS 8000 devices in the new X-Class CMOS image sensor platform from ON Semiconductor provide 12.6 megapixel and 8.8 megapixel (4k UHD) global shutter imaging for machine vision, ITS, and, broadcast applications.
