Instead of transmitting all the visible data, the event-based sensor (EVS) captures only changed pixel data, specifically luminance changes, emulating the human eye’s ability to convert light exposure on retina receptors into visual signals.
Each event packet includes essential information: pixel coordinates, time, and polarity, ensuring efficient data provision.
EVS sensors provide high-speed and low-latency data output and effectively detect vibrations and object movement in low-light conditions.
By reducing the transmission amount of redundant data, this technology reduces costs on the level of energy consumption and needed processing capacities, resulting in efficient bandwidth usage.
