Bayonet Mount Large Format Lenses

The phrase “large format lens” can apply to wide range of lens sizes. FRAMOS distributes large format lenses with a 46mm image circle, in both F (Nikon) and K (Pentax/Zeiss) style bayonet mounts – with throat diameters ranging from 40mm to 44mm.

While these lenses are functionally similar to consumer DSLR camera lenses, and use the same standard mounts, these are primarily intended for industrial or specialized applications.

Large Lenses Applications

The 46mm diameter image circle of these lenses makes them suitable for high-resolution and high dynamic range (HDR) applications where large format images sensors are required. Large format camera lenses are used in an industrial context for applications like surveillance systems, parts inspection cameras, and survey and inspection cameras for drones.

Large Lens Types and Usage

Large format lenses typically have both variable focusing elements and a variable aperture. Large format camera lenses are available both as fixed focal-length lenses and as zoom lenses with variable focal lengths. These lenses are available in a variety of focal lengths from fisheye lenses through telephoto lenses, and with special or optical filters to cut ambient infrared (IR) light to improve image quality in bright ambient lighting conditions.
