The smart devices and machines of our three-dimensional world – be they robots, drones, autonomous vehicles, or interactive AR / VR applications – they must not sense only their individual position, but the relative orientation and position of humans and other obstacles, too. 3D image data is indispensable for accurate control, and necessary for both measurement and interaction.

Machines and devices equipped with 3D cameras or 3D modules can perceive spatial vision. Perceptual computing equips robots, drones, smart devices, and surveillance systems with a further degree of perception, and this perceptual enhancement is the basis for human-machine interaction. Depth sensing and intelligent 3D vision enable smart consumer products, autonomous devices to acquire precise control and inspection. Technologies like “Stereo Vision” and “Time of Flight” enable real-time 3D image processing; allow similarly equipped devices to accurately recognize their environment, assess their position, and make independent decisions.

FRAMOS® offers 3D cameras and embedded vision modules for 3D applications and accessories for all types of applications and industries. The 3D cameras and 3D modules from the Intel® RealSense™ line make depth detection for 3D vision systems affordable and very easy to use.

The FRAMOS Embedded Vision product line enables the connection of up to four sensor modules via its multi-sensor platform. This platform allows modular access to stereo, dual stereo, and 360° applications. Sony products with time-of-flight technology (Tof) determine the distance by measuring the round-trip time of flight with an artificial light source. Usually, these modules are simple and compact. Embedded vision applications and high resolutions are recommended for more complex tasks. Subsequently, integral 3D cameras or modules that are based on a combination of passive and active stereo vision are suitable.

FRAMOS Engineering has developed a robust version of the D435e 3D camera specifically for industrial requirements, based on Intel®’s RealSense™ technology. All of our available 3D cameras and 3D modules are available as standard products, or custom versions. We can adapt 3D vision systems individually, or develop new systems with you.

Our FRAMOS experts can support you with the seamless integration and implementation of your 3D project. Additionally, they can aid you in the selection of the right 3D camera, the appropriate modules, components, and accessories. Tracking modules, middleware, and software, like the Intel® RealSense™ SDK, support the simple development of innovative and intelligent 3D systems. Our technical support and engineering services are at your side as your partner.
