Description

The Sony IMX392LQR-C is a high-performance CMOS image sensor designed for applications that require fast, precise image capture. Featuring a diagonal size of 7.9 mm (Type 1/2.3) and a square pixel array with 2.35 megapixels of effective resolution, this sensor is ideal for use in industrial automation, traffic monitoring, and machine vision systems. The IMX392LQR-C is equipped with a global shutter, allowing for distortion-free image capture, even with fast-moving objects, making it suitable for dynamic environments such as factory automation (FA) cameras and Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS).

The IMX392LQR-C’s global shutter also features a variable charge-integration time, giving developers the flexibility to adjust exposure times to match specific lighting conditions or capture requirements. This flexibility is especially useful in industrial environments where lighting can vary, or in outdoor ITS applications where exposure needs to be adjusted quickly and accurately to account for changing ambient conditions.

Operating on a triple power supply—analog 3.3 V, digital 1.2 V, and interface 1.8 V—the sensor is designed with low power consumption in mind, making it a cost-effective solution for applications that require continuous operation. Despite its low power requirements, the IMX392LQR-C delivers high sensitivity and excellent image quality, maintaining low levels of dark current and low PLS (parasitic light sensitivity) characteristics. This combination of power efficiency and high performance makes it a strong contender for applications that demand both precision and endurance.

The sensor's resolution of 1936 x 1216 pixels is well-suited for capturing high-quality images with fine detail. Each pixel has a size of 3.45 x 3.45 µm, which enhances light-gathering efficiency, resulting in superior image quality even in low-light environments. This makes the IMX392LQR-C ideal for applications like machine vision and ITS, where image clarity and sensitivity are essential under a variety of lighting conditions.

The LVDS interface (Low-Voltage Differential Signaling) used by the IMX392LQR-C ensures high-speed data transfer, enabling real-time image processing and analysis. This interface is particularly valuable in industrial environments where large volumes of image data must be processed quickly and efficiently, such as in automated inspection systems or traffic monitoring systems. With its fast data transfer rates and robust design, the sensor is well-suited for high-performance applications where speed and reliability are critical.

The IMX392LQR-C is housed in an LGA package with 226 pins, offering a compact and durable form factor for easy integration into a variety of systems. Its robust construction ensures long-term reliability, even in demanding industrial or outdoor environments, making it a versatile solution for developers working on systems that require consistent, high-quality image capture.

In summary, the Sony IMX392LQR-C offers a powerful combination of high sensitivity, low power consumption, and the precision of a global shutter, making it an ideal choice for industrial automation, machine vision, and ITS applications. Its flexible exposure control, fast LVDS interface, and robust build make it a reliable solution for any project that requires high-speed, distortion-free imaging in dynamic environments.
