Description

The Sony IMX992-AABJ is a 5.32 MP industrial SWIR image sensor built with original SenSWIR technology and a 3.45 μm pixel pitch. The IMX992 and IMX993 are part of Sony's latest SWIR image sensors, utilizing indium gallium arsenide (InGaAs) compound semiconductors for high sensitivity imaging across a broad spectral range. Designed for high-resolution imaging in the SWIR spectrum, this sensor features high sensitivity and dynamic range, enabling it to capture images in both visible light and short wavelength infrared (SWIR) spectra for industrial applications.

Its compact pixel size of 3.45 μm is the industry's smallest pixel size, allowing for higher resolution and improved image quality in inspection and measurement applications. The sensor's dual read rolling shutter and selectable high conversion gain/low conversion gain modes enable low-noise, high quality images even in low light environments. The IMX992 supports pre processing and digital output, allowing for efficient image correction and seamless integration with third party software for advanced analysis.

Reliable operation is ensured by robust sensor alignment and integrated thermoelectric cooling, supporting consistent performance in demanding industrial applications such as semiconductor inspection, material sorting, and solar cell analysis. The sensor is compatible with cost effective OEM systems, bare board configurations, and system solution integration, helping to reduce overall system costs. The IMX992 enables users to capture high quality images of tiny objects with high quantum efficiencies, making it ideal for SWIR cameras, Alvium SWIR cameras, and single camera setups for industrial and scientific measurement applications.

A fast frame rate and precise sensor alignment make the IMX992 suitable for cameras designed for the highest resolution imaging tasks. Leveraging Sony SenSWIR branding and original SenSWIR technology, the sensor's new small pixel size and advanced sensitivity deliver high quality images across the SWIR spectra. The IMX992 is widely used in industrial cameras for inspection and measurement applications, reducing system costs by enabling multispectral imaging with a single camera.

Its compact size supports standard C-mount integration and global shutter readout ensures distortion-free capture, even of moving subjects. The IMX992-AABJ is ideal for industrial inspection systems and imaging platforms requiring accurate near-infrared data. Its ability to expand the field of view while maintaining detail improves throughput in scanning applications. This sensor offers unmatched clarity for applications where SWIR light offers unique insights.
