Sony’s high-speed global shutter image sensors deliver unmatched performance for demanding applications. From industrial inspection to 3D scanning and scientific imaging, the IMX925, IMX935, IMX926, and IMX936 offer precise results with up to 660 fps and Pregius/Pregius S technology.

Sony IMX925, IMX926, IMX935, and IMX936 – High-Speed Sensors for Industrial and Embedded Vision

The next generation of imaging will be one of high speed and high accuracy, thanks to Sony’s advanced global shutter image sensors from the IMX925, IMX926, IMX935, and IMX936 series. These sensors deliver top-tier image quality, flexibility, and above all, crystal-sharp results in fast-changing environments – ideal for 2D/3D inspection, sports, volumetric imaging, and more.

Speed matters: With up to 660 frames per second, you can now build your embedded image processing system using Sony’s Pregius/Pregius S technology, which enables smooth capture of every movement. Global shutter technology enables rolling shutter artifact-free images. This allows movements to be captured with razor-sharp clarity at every moment.

Where Speed Meets Precision

Key Applications for High-Speed Global Shutter Sensors

From manufacturing lines to cutting-edge scientific research, these sensors provide the critical data needed for advanced analysis and automation.

Industrial Inspection and Quality Control

High-speed cameras are used in production lines to detect and sort out defects in products or packaging in real-time. The high frame rate enables automated optical inspection and monitoring even in very fast production processes, such as bottle filling, printed circuit board inspection, or the testing of automotive parts.

Volumetric Imaging

High-frame-rate image sensors are used for volumetric capture of moving people or objects, for example for virtual reality, motion capture, or animations in the entertainment industry.

3D Scanning

Surface scans via the structured light method can be done with high accuracy. The sensors support high frame rates and low noise, which are critical for accurate 3D scans.

Advanced Features for Superior Performance

Technical Highlights of the Global Shutter Image Sensors IMX925, IMX935, IMX926, and IMX936

These key technical highlights not only optimize image quality and data transfer but also provide exceptional flexibility for diverse industrial and scientific applications.

  • 1-Shot HDR

The 1-shot HDR function expands the dynamic range without changing the current settings for frame rate and resolution. This helps when capturing objects with different degrees of reflection.

  • Flexible Sensor Modes

The image sensors support multiple binning modes. The pixels can be combined into a virtual pixel of 2-to-1, 1-to-2, and 2-to-2. This enables higher speeds and results in clearer images with less noise.

The color versions of the image sensors can subsample and read out color pixels (RGB). It is possible to switch between subsampling and full-pixel imaging, enabling both color imaging and wavelength-specific irradiation pattern imaging with just one sensor.

  • SLVS-EC

The image sensors support the latest version of the high-speed camera interface SLVS-EC, which allows for high-speed and high-resolution image data transfers.

  • C-Mount

The image sensors are suitable for C-mount and can therefore be used with a wide range of lenses that are proven in industry. This reduces the barrier to entry.
