FRAMOS, the Germany based provider for imaging solutions and distributor for image sensors and related components today announced it has been appointed by e2v as official distributor for their entire CMOS image sensors portfolio.
FRAMOS will today focus on e2v’s JADE, SAPPHIRE, RUBY and ONYX global shutter sensor series up to 2 Mpixels, especially allowing to address special imaging applications in the near infrared (NIR) segment or under extreme low-light imaging conditions, or providing sensors in extended temperature range.
“The FRAMOS Group is in a period of global expansion and tremendous growth,” said Axel Krepil, Head of FRAMOS’ Image Sensor Division, “Establishing this agreement with e2v strengthens our portfolio for customers and will enable us to solidify our leadership in the global Machine Vision and special applications market while offering local and timely support at all levels.”
With 35 years of experience, FRAMOS is in tune with today’s imaging customer requirements and positioned to help its clients innovate and remain competitive in a diverse imaging market. As a global imaging partner, FRAMOS is able to support its customers with a broad service portfolio that ranges from sensors to solutions on a worldwide base. e2v has over 30 years’ experience in designing, manufacturing and delivering image sensors and cameras, CCD image sensors, arrays and cameras and EMCCD image sensors. These operate across the electromagnetic spectrum from x-ray, through ultraviolet and visible light, to near infrared. e2v’s expertise has resulted in their involvement in some of the highest profile imaging projects, including being the eyes for NASA’s Hubble space telescope and providing the largest sensor array (106 sensors making a 1 GPixel array) for ESA’s GAIA mission to map the Milky Way.
